Ukrainian-born sculptor, Julia Levitina, creates powerful and elegant sculptures in bronze that aim to capture the extraordinary in the ordinary. Levitina personally attends to her entire craft process, from clay to bronze, including metal casting and finishing, in her studio, which is unique as many sculptors outsource these processes to foundries.
Her work can be found in public and private collections in the US and in Europe, including La Salle University Art Museum and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in PA, Thomas More Law Center in Ann Arbor, Flanders House in New York City, Jewish Museum in Budapest and Van Mieghem Museum and City Hall in Antwerp, among others, with her latest bronze installation located at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

"Capturing the depth of suffering within rather than ogling cruel details of the horrors of war, that are not just an affront to civilization, but to the very notion of humanity, "My Guernica" strives to make us see more clearly and question the crimes of our own time. In its courage to pursue the truth, undeterred by ever-changing fads, complacency, indifference, and egregious propaganda-inciting lies; in its desire to hold out hope amidst surrounding devastation, this series of works is a tribute to life itself."
