Jacqueline Boyd will be presenting her most in-demand series: Insouciant. Connecting with the comforting warmth of a happy home, these works merge domestic kitchen scenes and the contemporary aesthetic of fine line ink drawings. In this series, Boyd utilizes new technologies and encaustic techniques. These free-flowing line drawings are printed on rice paper that seems to evaporate in the process - the bold ink appears to float in the layers of creamy wax. This methodology allows a depth and softness that invites the viewer to attach their own happy memories to revisit for years to come.
Insouciant #12, 2024. Drawing printed on rice paper, embedded in wax on panel, 10.75 x 7.75 inches.
