Acclaimed Philadelphia Art Gallery Expands Exhibition Programs Beyond Gallery Walls
Stanek Gallery to Launch Satellite Series at Penn Treaty Village Penthouses
PHILADELPHIA, May 24, 2016 – Stanek Gallery, a nationally-recognized, Old City-based pioneer in the gallery community featuring museum-style formats, announced today the details of their series of long-term satellite exhibitions, starting at Penn Treaty Village Penthouses in Northern Liberties. The exhibitions, beginning on June 10th, 2016, will focus on high-quality art shown in sites that have been carefully selected to harmonize with the work.
“There is just not enough time and wall space to exhibit all work of extraordinary merit available in this city, so we are expanding our walls beyond the gallery,” said Katherine Stanek, Owner and Co-founder of Stanek Gallery. “We are installing formal long term exhibitions in public spaces with the same art and artists one can expect to see in our Gallery, making all of Philadelphia an art gallery.”
The Penn Treaty Village Penthouse’s satellite exhibition will feature a lineup of artists who have received highly coveted recognition and are widely shown in the Philadelphia area as well as other competitive markets including New York. The list of artists for the first satellite exhibition includes: Laura Adams, Jaqueline Boyd, Deborah Fine, Hollis Heichemer, and Patrick Lee. Unlike a traditional gallery setting, the work in this exhibition will be available for immediate purchase.
“Pop up exhibitions have grown in popularity. There is value to this model but it is lost on the potential buyer as it is viewed as 'transient'. Buyers of fine art want to enjoy the work on its own merits. They want to feel comfortable that their purchase is not only a good investment but also and has longevity,” said Katherine. “We at Stanek Gallery have established ourselves as a reputable gallery with high caliber work by artists of national and international acclaim, giving the buyer the confidence they need, while the elegant site and long term installation provide an artistic experience visitors have come to expect of our gallery."
The opening event at Penn Treaty Village Penthouses is Friday June 10th, 2016 from 6:00 - 9:00pm. For more information regarding Stanek Gallery’s upcoming satellite exhibition, as well as current and past exhibitions, visit: www.stanekgallery.com.
