Stanek Gallery brings together more than 30 new works by admired and accomplished local artists Bruce Samuelson, Mary Spinelli, and Gary Weisman.
Art is a conversation between the viewer and the artist. The viewer is a necessary participant in this conversation. The artist speaks first using a visual language of composition, form, color, texture, light, line, and material. Then, the viewer responds – bringing their experiences, desires, and interpretations. Both the artist and the viewer engage in a back-and-forth give-and-take that can span years, oceans, and language barriers. Regardless of these disparities, the conversation culminates in a shared gratitude for beauty, truth, and human connection.
Stanek Gallery presents "Untitled" to You in this chaotic world that pushes us to search for what we need both internally and externally. We understand that natural responses to dynamic works of art change as our experience changes. Consequently, all the possible connections and interpretations are too vast to be described with words. Untangle the symbolism in Weisman’s delicately balanced bronze figures, lose yourself in the ambiguous forms of Samuelson’s mixed media works, and explore the regions of space and time in Spinelli’s ethereal paintings.
