(PHILADELPHIA, PA) December 20, 2019 – Stanek Gallery, a nationally-recognized, Old City-based pioneer in the gallery community, announced today their first exhibition of 2020 titled, “All Shall Be Well”. Exploring the notions of memory and the passage of time, local artists Jacqueline Boyd and Louise Strawbridge have a powerful message to share. Both Boyd and Strawbridge will debut new bodies of work, infused with warmth and incredible depth, on First Friday, January 3rd, 2020.

“At Stanek gallery, we have established a reputation of representing artists that embody excellence in both craft and content,” says Katherine Stanek, Owner and Director of Stanek Gallery. “Jacqueline Boyd and Louise Strawbridge are no exception. As second-career women artists, they have found a new voice and redefined who they are and what they contribute to the world through the fine art community. Evident in both artists’ works are the notions of past, present and future--each piece a meditation filled with subtle details, these incredible works reflect their lived experiences and how they see and relate to the world that surrounds them.”

Featured in the exhibition is an incredible collection of Jacqueline Boyd’s oil paintings which powerfully evoke the merging of reality and memory. Influenced by what is familiar, experiences and beloved places alike, Boyd seamlessly integrates and overlays recognizable spaces and objects, infusing them with the poignancy of experience and memory. Surrendering aspects of her own emotions and memories through her painting process, Boyd creates surprising new realities suffuse with warmth and vitality.

Louise Strawbridge will debut a new body of mixed media works--created from vintage book covers, found objects and richly handcrafted papers, Strawbridge’s series of “Collage Memories” embodies the continuity of past, present and future. Strawbridge has an eye for discerning the beauty and life in otherwise neglected objects and detritus, resulting in powerful works with abundant detail. Also on view are Strawbridge’s vessels, thoughtfully constructed from found objects and materials, which possess an inherent commentary on the concepts of femininity, strength and bounty.
